How long do customer flirt with you after you&#8217;ve already convinced them?<\/p>\n<p>The answers are: as short as possible and as long as possible, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>What if the frequency and intensity of flirts were measurable? Might they affect the value of a customer? Might they affect how soon they&#8217;re on-boarded? Would it increase the probability that a customer will stay with you? Hmm&#8230;let&#8217;s just have some fun.<\/p>\n<p>We all know what churn rates are. So it makes sense that:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>LOVE% = 1 \/ (CHURN RATE%)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Therefore, a customer&#8217;s Flirtatious Lifetime Value (FLV) might be:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>FLV = ($\/mo) x LOVE%<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>and where LOVE% might be directly affected by something like:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-463 lazyload\" title=\"Capture2\" data-src=\"http:\/\/66.147.244.233\/~reamazec\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Capture2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"84\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.reamaze.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Capture2.png 377w, https:\/\/blog.reamaze.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/Capture2-300x112.png 300w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 224px) 85vw, 224px\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 224px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 224\/84;\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As an experiment, we wanted to find out if customer support can be instrumental in increasing a customer&#8217;s LOVE% through &#8220;flirting&#8221; (conversing more frequently and intensely). Our train of thought:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>When new \u00a0users first sign up or start a conversation with us for help and questions, we take a &#8220;flirt at first sight&#8221; approach. Make a dazzling impression as fast and as early possible. Since we run a tight ship here, speed dating should be easy.<\/li>\n<li>Measure how long it takes for the potential customer to a) reply and\/or b) perform a suggested action. Maybe buying us a drink or something crazy like that.<\/li>\n<li>Track how many flirts take place before the customer is swooped off their feet strictly through our charm.<\/li>\n<li>If this works out well, we&#8217;ll gamify this process!
